Bold Expressive Landscapes
This workshop focuses on the concept of interpreting the landscape subject matter rather than reproducing what is seen
Students can access a PDF download of a workbook for each class
Images and instruction used in teacher instruction can be access with a link and downloaded at the students convienience
Painterly Expression in Oil
Landscape design and color harmony in oil
This course will be focused on expressive oil painting and design
1. Designing the landscape with simplified shapes to create dynamic compositions
2. Learning to use oil paint, palette, and medium to mix and apply paint in thin to full-bodied paint layers
3. Learning color theory. Developing a color scheme and creating color sketches. Using a limited palette to harmonize colors
4. Identifying and practicing steps to take in the development of a painting..
Each class will be 3 hours long.
Students will need to bring their own materials. Tables will be provided to set easels on.
